[Poll] Synchro or Exceed monsters?

The new exceeds have not really been widely used in the TCG yet, but I've seen the power of them. I don't know if I'll have to add more things to my extra deck, so I'm wondering whether Exceeds are worth putting in decks. I'll probably make a deck depending on the results of this poll.

Synchro is broken D: and you need a motorcycle to play it. If you have Synchro things like fusion and rituals get obsolet.

Me personally, I SO prefer Synchro's, I highly doubt I'll EVER use a Exceed/Xyz monster really, even if it can help my Tempest Deck, I just don't like them >_>.

Both. They have their own Function and Playstyle, and can support each other anyway...

I think that it really depends on your play style. My brother recently purchased the "YS11" Xceed deck, and after a number of duels against my more traditional deck, I can tell that they are meant to be readily summoned and disposed of. The Xceed cards (Number 39: Utopia, Genosaurus, and Gachi Gachi Gentatsu) have easy to pin-point weaknesses. They do, however, cause many problems when together, so I suppose that they're good for blitzing an opponent and catching them off guard.
By contrast, Synchro monsters are generally stronger and have more benefits at the cost of being harder to summon. (Like a level 3 and a 4 tuner just to have my Ancient Fairy Dragon out. CMON). They have more going for them in the long run wheras Xceed cards simply die off.

Vote for Synchro, because I love spamming Formula Synchron and Black Rose Dragon.

Oooh, Ritual monsters are great! I have a hard time getting the ritual monster, ritual card, and tribute material together though xD

I have to say Rituals are my favourite too. I have fond memories of a Yugi thed deck that beat people down with a first turn Magician of Black Chaos, and more recent fod memories of Demise OTK.
(Not to mention Norttwemko XD)

In terms of Xyz and Synchros, however, Synchros come out on top for me. Synchros were game breaking cards, that completely changed the face of Yu-gi-oh.... And the Xyz... Well, I kinda see them as watered down Synchros, that bear even more similarity to Synchros than Synchros did to fusions.

I would have to go with synchros too...Just because i love spamming them out on people with my karakuri deck XP

Nah. I vote for synchro. As far as I can remember, it's rare to find a synchro with negative effects. The only problem for them is they need tuner.

Oh, and I just remembered. Another problem with Xceed monsters is that once they're killed off, they're as good as useless, since they aren't revived with XYZ material.

ughh i hate synchros, they made a lot of cards get obsolete and also made it too easy to swarm monsters in a turn, it only takes one mistake and bam your oponent has a swarm of monsters on the field and the worst is that you have to use an archetype to stand a chance agaisnt synchros because they made it almost impossible for original decks to win, cause synchro decks are like extremely fast man

but i have to admit it that using the tuners to keep summoning stuffs is fun

xyz are different, they are balanced and can be used in any kind of deck so you wont have to fill it with stuffs you dont really like just so you can summon xyzs

if synchros werent so overpowered i would vote for them because the idea of tuners is amazing so i vote for xyz

Xyz different and balanced? I don't think so. If you already dueled some decks like Dino Rabbit, Wind-Up, Hieratics, etc, you'll understand why xyz is no better than synchro. Let me know when you already have a condition where Lagia and Dolkka are on the same field, when opponent swarms xyz monsters in hieratics, or when Gachi-Gachi Gantetsu are together with Zenmaines on the same field.

actually yeah those are quite overpowered but only because those are xyz archetypes and archetypes in general can be really painful to beat, for example inzectors

but i was reffering to generic synchros vs generic xyzs (the ones that can be summoned using any attribute or type and all you need is to match the correct level)

generic synchros were worse because they were quite powerful (goyo stardust brionac etc) and if you wanted to stand a chance you had to change your deck in order to add tuners and be able to synchro summon

if xyz had been added first instead on sychro it would have been different, not only generic xyzs arent as op as generic synchros but they can be added to any kind of deck because all you need in order to summon generic xyzs is two monsters of any kind with the same level

but the reason generic xyzs arent as powerful as generic synchros is because they noticed how nasty things were when they first added synchros, so its not rly nobodys fault

Actually, generic synchros hardly generate advantage, and the one who generate advantage, either have some condition to activate the effect or not generic one. However, generic synchros are more advantageous in ATK power.


On the other hand, most of generic xyz, especially the one easy to summon, has low ATK. But, thanks to their nature for their effect to be limited by the amount of overlay material they have, Konami break loose their design and makes them advantage generating machine. Basically, most of their effect are to make you gain advantage a.k.a pluses (Leviair, Daigusto Emeral, Black Corn, Wind-Up Zenmaity, etc). Not to mention their effect centered on covering the vital game mechanic (dumping to grave : Lavalval Chain, Negating Battle : Utopia, etc).


So if you ask me which one is more annoying to deal with, it's Xyz monsters, since it's easier to abuse xyz than synchros. But overall, they are pretty much equal thanks to their nature for their limited 'bullet' while synchros are harder to kill.

to me synchros are more annoying i have lost more duels because of brionac alone than duels i have lost because of xyzs altogether , but it might deppend of what has happened to you

Synchro, because of their superior effect like destroying all "0" attack monster, negate annoying card like mirror force, along with the superior power of destruction effect, but well, XYZ have their own good, likely terabyte, you could take control of your opponent's weakest monster and use creature swap for gaining monster which have more power, permanently!!!!
And sides, I think fusion monster is superior then those two card, while it was hard to summon(especially evil hero with dark fusion), those effect totally worth it

Usually the fusion monsters are better in term of ATK power and most of good Fusion monsters are Hero exclusive. But yeah... they are not in this feud between synchro and xyz... -3-

I like Xyz monsters imo. They are far more versatile than Synchros in general and are generally easier to make. It's about time some Xyz monsters get marked in the banlist.

Well, if XYZ will be one of the limited card, I think it'll be Terabyte, I do like the ability, along with Levia Dragon, those two were my favorite card for XYZ monster
