Since this is about the summon mechanic, let's discuss about it there.

Well, no matter how you look at it, it's going to be something to break the game; I've come to accept that. Because, if you read at the bottom of the link, it says the new monsters will be available in the next STARTER DECK. So Konami is going to try and make some money on this as fast as they can lol.

As for how they are summoned and what cost... probably not as much as other people are thinking. But that's just my opinion.

Pendulum summon huh? So this is the new type of summon? Doesn't sounds bad...


The clue from the URL is, need 2 monsters. But as for monster's 'brand-new-type-of-effect', requirements of the two monsters for the summon, Need more info. After xyz monsters has ranks, now what kind of 'level' they would have this time...


But all I know for this is, the power creep would raise again. And if that's the case, good luck, classic players.

Perhaps the Pendulum Summon will be two monsters tagging up together like a tennis double or something like that? I cannot even think of what the new summoning mechanic will do to the current meta-game.

LOL well pink is available... and iirc the same color of the hippo that main character boy was riding

And I guess we can safely assume that these new cards won't have "Levels" or "Ranks"... so looks like we'll have to make up a whole new term again -_-

This is based on what I read in some web, I dunno where:

"Pendulum summon will be needing 2/more cards to be used
Like a pendulum, after a certain thing is done, it will return back to extra deck and re-summon the material to summon them"

I will be happy if these stuff happen

Woah, now this is interesting.

Like Xyz, this card may have a kind of cost for activating its effect like detaching a material. But according to what you just said catastor, it returns to the Extra deck after it has no more Pendulum materials?
This is... interesting. It has the potential to be really balanced, or cause some infinite summoning loops or something. Guess I can't help but be the least bit curious at this point!

(1): If you control no monsters you can activate this card. If your Pendulum Monster battles, your opponent cannot activate any Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step. (2): If you don't have a "Magician" card or an "Odd-Eyes" card in your other Pendulum Zone, this card's Pendulum Scale becomes 4.
Monster Effect
(1): Once per turn, while this card is in your Monster Card Zone, cards in your Pendulum Zone cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects.

So not only we found out Pendulum monsters are not from extra, but now there's a new field called 'Pendulum Zone'? And there's also Pendulum Scales too? How nice. We got new terms and rules to learn soon.

Though if Pendulum Zone and Monster Zone separated, it'll be crazy if the Pendulum Monster can declare an attack from Pendulum Zone...

EDIT: So we have new card zone!

(This is not a clear explaination of how the mechanic works, please wait for further details to explain it.)
1. There are two new Pendulum Zones on the field
2. There are new Pendulum Monsters with “Scales” to the left and right of the card (the red and blue things)
You can place them in the Pendulum Zones, if you do they becomes Spells instead of monsters
differnet pendulum monsters have different scale numbers
3. Once you have 1 pendulum monster in each p zone, you can perform a pendulum summon
you take the numbers between the two scale numbers, in this case 1 and 8, so 2-7
4. In this turn with this pendulum summon you can summon any number of monsters from your hand and face-up pendulum monsters from your extra deck that are of levels 2-7
and you can only do this one time, so you can’t summon something now, draw some, and then summon some more later
in the same turn
also when pendulum monsters die you can play them face-up in your extra deck
when you perform a pendulum summon you can summon 1 of them from your extra

So we have a half-spell half-monster card. Well, this should be interesting if nothing else. And they don't sound as horribly OP as xyz either, so maybe I'll like this series.

Binding Dharc, you kidding? These sound freakishly OP compared to even Xyz. All you need are two cards on the field, and you can summon virtually 5 monsters at once? And if they die, they go back into the Extra where you can summon them again? That doesn't seem fair at all! There must be a catch that we're missing.

I reallllllly don't like this.

What I don't get is, are these pendulum monsters main deck monsters or extra deck monsters? Or did they make main deck monsters go to extra deck? They said we can SS monsters from extra decks too. Does that mean that include synchro and fusion too?

Oh god I hope they don't include Synchros and Fusions. That would be the downright worst! Though I guess you wouldn't be able to do it regardless with monsters that say "Must be Special Summoned by Fusion/Synchro Summon, and cannot be summoned by other ways."

Pendulum Zone

So, now they're making the duel mat bigger? Does this mean we can't use our old ones anymore?

Also, that Arc-V logo looks like a Jack-O'Lantern O.o

Omg duel disks! I think I still have mine from 2005. I stopped using it because it would damage my cards after a while lol

But that may be up for discussion once we actually see what the show's like. After all, what kind of duel disk would you wear while riding a pink hippo?
